correct technique for applying M105 by hand?

I'm trying to remove heavy oxidation from white 2008 Camry by hand. Used clay bar first til smooth. Tried applying M105 by hand with microfiber pad, working in small area, approx. 2ft square at a time. The 105 was difficult to remove and didn't leave a clean looking surface. After I went over it with a Turtle wax polish that I had, the finish looked pretty good. Still some cloudiness but surface looks uniform and has good shine, and very smooth. Is there something that I should be doing differently with the M105 to get better results?

Sounds like you are doing everything correctly. Working on very small areas is key. Also moisten your cloth applicator pad before applying product

Working with 105 (or any compound) by hand is an extremely difficult task.

Our G17216 Ultimate Compound would likely be easier to work with. Would suggest applying with either a soft foam or soft microfiber applicator pad, like our W0004 or X3080, if working by hand. Work in small 1 square foot or so sections at a time, apply the product in circular overlapping motions, moderate pressure, keeping hand flat, for about a minute or so, wipe off residue with microfiber towel. The residue should look like a light wet translucent film when going to wipe off. If the product ever does dry on the paint, simply re-apply a small amount of more wet product to help easily remove. Following with a polish like our Ultimate Polish will help further restore moisture into the paint & bring out a high gloss. Then apply your favorite wax.
