How to remove oxidization on motorhome

I have a 2015 Motorhome with some oxidization that is light and some on the front of the cab over that is heavy. I tried Meguiar's Ultimate Compound using a DA Polisher. It worked well on the light oxidation, but not so well on the heavy oxidization. What would work better on the heavy oxidization?

I would start by washing with an all purpose cleaner. A lot of that chalk will wash off. I would then move to a rotary polisher with a wool pad. You can pick up a rotary at harbor freight for around $50.
Another thing that might help would be to spritz the pad with water occasionally. Ultimate Compound/105 works very fast (too fast imo) for polishing gel coat otherwise

Hey Lee Welcome to MOL

I just finished a 72' Houseboat about a month ago and as you know the most Important thing to do is remove the old chalky dead oxidation. Alot of times a Rotary with a wool pad is not necessary and causes more work then need be. But you can get away with a higher powered DA but the key here is to use foam cutting pads and have 3 or more on hand and being clean is very Important.

I started out using M100 on the old Gel Coat with a 9237 Makita and wool pad and it just didn't cut fast enough. And DON'T use a micro fiber cutting pad, waste of time!!! Use M105, Meguiars foam Cutting disk and lots of pressure! Your shoulders will feel like jelly in about 3 hours but that technique will get you a great gloss.

On the Gel Coat I did I got a great outcome by only worki g a 18"X18" area. I started by spreading over work area and then applied by first passes with 20+lbs of pressure with verticle overlapping by about 40% and then doing about 3 to 4 more section passes all horizontal and overlapping by only a couple inches until all product was worked in and/or until horizontal lines of previous
passes are just about gone.

And don't forget that when you go to next section to overlap by 3 inches or so and on last pass go over the last section as well. And then after you get surface the way you like add a spray wax over to protect.

But again the DA will be sufficient if you remove all the oxidation and use M105 and Meguiars foam cutting disk, Lots of pressure and use plenty of product.
