  • Leather Problem????

    Hi All!

I have a 2017 Mazda CX-5 with ebony leather interior. Anyway, I have 12k miles, and have these weird lines/creases on the side of my driver's side seat bolster. Is this normal wear and tear? Can they be removed?

What do all of your side bolsters look like?

    Here is mine:

That area likely is not real leather, more likely faux (synthetic) leather. If it were real leather you could try a daily wipe down with a wrung out towel to try to re-hydrate the leather. Leather shrinks and hardens when it gets dry and when re-hydrated the leather fibers plump up and get more pliable. This reduces the creasing. But the leather option in most vehicles these days is only on the contact areas and the rest is typically synthetic material made to look like leather.

So, basically I just live with it? I just wanted to make sure that it wouldn't "crack" on me.

That's unfortunate. I also unfortunately do not have any recommendations for you. I would maybe try to go on a mazda forum, and see if other owners are having the same issue.
