What are these marks and how do I get rid of them?

So I clay bar my whole car last weekend and compounding and polishing my whole car since it's new used car to me and would like to get the pinat perfect or really really close to swirl free.

Now I started with the hood today and both my low quality polishing pads velcro came off so now gotta buy new pads.

But anyhow I noticed these marks on my hood. What are these?

Hi,

It looks like dried compound/polish residue to me? Have you tried anything to remove? Sometimes dried compound/polish residue can be removed with a detail spray, sometimes it can be a bit stubborn. Another option is to reapply some polish in that area, work in, and wipe off.

I haven't really tried. I will re-compound and polish the hood completely so that should do it?
