Has anyone tried headlight wet sanding and or polishing with a oscillating multi tool. I was thinking of trying wet sanding near the corners of lights where a circular pad cant reach. I can cut pieces of 1500 and 300 grit velcro backed sand paper to fit the sander pad.

I haven't, but then never even thought of it. Sounds like a good possibility to me.
The one thing that pops into my addled brain is the speed of the tool and how much heat it may produce. Maybe give it a shot on a junk yard find first.

Sanding on headlights is fairly fool proof, as far as direction of sanding goes, hand back & forth, d/a machine sanding, there are even kits that rotary sand. So with that said, I don't foresee any major issues. And you meant to say "3000" grit correct?Nick Winn

My multi-tool feels pretty aggressive and hard to control in tight areas. I'd be careful of contacting the body (paint) that surrounds the headlight.John @ HillCityAutoDetail.com

these tools use vibration to literally saw through metal/tile/wood etc,if you get the angle wrong at all it will cut into the light,most are large heavy powerful vibration Its just far too aggressive for this application imo like using a die grinder to sand somthing its overkillComment
