  • Lowest temp a glass repellent can be applied?

    Hello you all,
I have bought AngelWax H2GO and have been wanting to apply it ever since. There is only one problem - cold weather in my country and no garage therefore I need to know what is the lowest temperature the product can be applied?

It is 5C(41F) today and I have some spare time. There is forecast for Sunday for 8C(47F) but it will be a busy day so is waiting going to really benefit the application and those 3C make the difference?

Lastly, should I clay prior to application?

Claying never hurts, esp if you havent done it recently.

Not sure on the lowest temp to wax, but you can try to work in the sun to help.

It's a bit tricky for us to say what the proper temperature range is for using a competitors product, but it seems to be almost universally accepted that somewhere around 50F is the cut off point for "ease of use" with almost anything appearance care related. At temps lower than that some products just don't spread as easily, some won't dry as quickly (or at all) or they'll dry so quickly that they become very difficult to work with. We've heard of people using all kinds of products at temps in the low 40sF to just above freezing with great success. So there's a huge difference between a "recommendation" and a "hard and fast rule". You might well be borderline temperature wise at 41F, but 47F likely won't be a problem. Unless, of course, the manufacturer states a higher temp as their cutoff point. I did a quick search on the product and found plenty of application process videos and write ups, but nothing specific to temperature.

Thank you for the great responses! I stopped today at the claying stage and I will apply the H2GO on a warmer day.

@Murr Car has most likely never seen a clay bar. I
