I cleaned the glass inside and out with IPA and then with glass cleaner. It looks great except when a strong light comes from the front these small chip-like spots show up all over the surface. Are they actual chips? How can I get rid of them? Thanks

Looks like to me, natural wear and tear on the glass, much like road rash on a bumper. There are always tiny little hard object being kicked up by the vehicle in the front, even though you cannot see them. It eventually wears away at everything hitting it at 70 mph. If that is in fact, road rash of the windshield, you are out of luck. There is nothing that I know, that you can do about it. A new windshield would do the trick. -

If it is pitting you can feel it with your finger tip. No real solution other than replacement.Comment

It is hard to tell for sure with that one picture if it is normal pitting. Another picture would help.Nick Winn

I thought I was the only one who has this problem. I am pretty sure it is imperfections in the glass. I thought it was tiny chips but I don't feel anything on the surface, I think it may be tiny bubbles as someone else suggested. Whatever the case, I don't remember ever seeing thus until my current car, 2009 Merc Grand Marquis.
I think the glass manufacturers are making an inferior product.Comment
