    Rookie Mistake: Meguiar's

Please help! I was using a microfiber towel with Quick Detailer on the exterior of my car when washing it. I forgot to switch the towel to a new one when I started working on the interior of my car. I used the same towel with the Quick Detailer on a couple of shiny plastic dash components and the HVAC knobs. I thought everything was fine but noticed when the product dried it sort of bonded to the plastic and I can see where i wiped.

I tried to get it off but it had already dried. Is the plastic ruined or will the product eventually wear off?

    Thanks!

Try soap and water. If that does not work use some quick detailer on a cloth to activate the dried Detailer and then use soap and water to wash the area. Good Luck

Thank you for the reply. I failed to mention that this was Exterior Quick Detailer in the black bottle. I'm concerned it has somehow bonded to the softer interior plastic. Think I should still try the method you suggested above? If so, what kind of soap?

Yes the exterior detailer should not harm the inside plastic. Sounds to me like it just dried prior to it being removed

I'll give it a try. What kind of soap should I use? Dish soap?

Last night I tried both using just soap and water and the Exterior Quick Detailer with Soap and Water. Unfortunately, this had little to no effect that I can see.

I went pretty light on the soap/water mixture. What ratio should I use and is there anything else I could try.

Thank you for all your help on this.

get a rag wet with detailing solutuon and hold on affected area for a minute or so and it should turn the residue back into a liquid and it will wipe off. The mixture does not need to be strong to soap and water just a little omore than you would use to do dishes. good luck

Wanted to give you an update. So I tried applying a wet microfiber towel of the Quick Detailer Product for a minute or so. Nothing came off

Any possibility this will wear off naturally over time?

Yes I would wait, you want to be careful as not to use anything too strong as it could permanently damage the interior components
