Advice on correct pad to use

I have the Griot's 6" random orbital buffer and would like to know what buffer pad to use with the below products. I have the Griot's Orange correction pad, Black foam finishing pad and Red foam waxing pad.


The products I have are:


Mirror Glaze # 7
Ultimate Compound
Ultimate Polish
Ultimate Liquid Wax

They only give guidance on the web site for use with their products. I did send a email asking what they recommend. I may just try and start with the least aggressive pad and work up and see what results I get. The Orange pad seems to be the universal pad they recommend for everything with the exception of a wax only product.

Orange with Ultimate Compound
Orange or Black with Ultimate Polish
Black or Red with M07
Black or Red with Ultimate Wax

M07 is probably redundant in this scenario. Ultimate Polish has come of the same glazing fantastic, as well as a finishing abrasive.

I am not familiar with their pads, but guessing by the designation, I would say:

Black Finishing or Red foam waxing for #7
Orange Correction for Ultimate Compound
Black Finishing or red foam waxing for Ultimate Polish
Red foam waxing for Ultimate Liquid Wax
