  • Micro dimples and other blemishes

First time machine detailing. I'm using a Craftsman rotary polisher 1450 / 1600 rpms with an orange waffle sponge pad. I have Meguiars 105 & 205. I did use a clay bar with Meguiars detailing spray after I washed. I also used Meguiars detailing spray with the cutting and polishing compounds. As the paint started to clear up I noticed tiny dimples all over the paint. I reapplied Meguiars 105 with limited results. Some places do look smoother than others but I wasn't sure if that was from the polishing. I thought the pock marks might be from me as well until I looked closely at the fender that I had not touched. And then a different type of blemish showed up and I have no idea if that was because of my handiwork. Please see attached pictures and let me know what's happening thanks.

I thought I came to the professionals who knew something about paint. Maybe the Chemical Guys have a clue. Thank you anyway.

The first photo looks like a paint defect that can not be fixed with compounding. It may require a repaint.

The second photo looks like a bird drop etching that has damaged the clear coat. It could also be clear coat fracturing.
