"Leather" Interior - What Is Correct Product to Use ?

I drive a 2019 Honda Accord with grey "leather" interior. Except for leather seating surfaces I'm sure there's more plastic than leather.

Question...what is correct product to use if not 100% certain what's leather or plastic ? Can a leather conditioner like Mequiars 3 and 1 be used on everything or Mequiars vinyl surface cleaner & protectant be best to use ?

Also, does anyone know if Mequiars products will darken the grey leather ?

The leather is probably more plastic as well... but the leather care products are at least usually better with rubbing on clothes and stuff.

Generally speaking leather products can be used on both, and the Quick Interior Detalier products can be used on both. The Ultimate Shine, and other dash board type products are more just for plastic.

The Gold Class Leather cleaner/conditioner spray would certainly be fine or the seats, padding on arm rests, door face, etc. Probably wouldnt want your dash board and such done with it if it is a hard plastic.

Not usually, or by much, as long as you arent soaking it... but a little dab on the back first never hurts...

Quik Interior Detailer Cleaner is a staple for any interior in our opinion. Then a dedicated leather cleaner/conditioner, if the vehicle is equipped with leather. Then a dedicated protectant for areas like the dash & door panels. Some examples of protectants we have for these areas would be our Natural Shine Protectant, Supreme Shine Protectant, and Ultimate Protectant. They are best applied by spraying directly onto a soft foam applicator pad like our W0004, and then worked into the panels.

When a dashboard has just a little bit of dust can we just go straight to one of the shine protectants or does it need to be cleaned by QID before hand?

You can go straight to a dedicated protectant. A Vinyl, Colored Plastic, or Rubber, is not going to scratch from dust. Interior Clear Plastics, or glossy trim, you should not be using a protectant on these anyways, but, just as a side note, with these surfaces it is important to use a product like Quik Interior Detailer to assist in safely removing the dust.

A little old but maybe it may help. Unless you have a very high end Rolls Royce or some other very expensive European vehicle, your leather seats are "finished" leather. They have a coating of vinyl on them. NOTHING penetrates vinyl. Anything you buy to put on it is a waste of money. You can clean it with Windex. Nothing you can buy will penetrate and "condition" your leather. If you like the smell these automotive leather "conditioners" add to you car, then go for it. We have three horses, and I know the differences between "finished" automotive leather, and saddles and horse tack (unfinished leather) There is a lot of **** in automotive detailing but one of the worst is leather conditioning.
