  • Should Ultimate Polish Be Used On A New Truck?

I have a new black Tundra and was wondering if UP should be used on it, or should I just clay it? I have put a coat of ultimate liquid wax on it.

Well, its a bit late if you already waxed, unless you were going to start over.

But Wash, Clay, Ult, Polish, Ult. Wax would be considered a good detail for a new car.

Wash it first then once dried feel the surface if it's rough it needs claying, then polishing / waxing, depending on condition if the factory put buffer swirls in it you may need to use a compound first before the polish, remember polishing adds gloss.

New vehicles can have defects already from the factory. You will have to be the judge on how the paint looks.

Claying can marr the paint and polishing will remove that marring and impart gloss.

It is up to you if you want to start over with the wash, clay, polish and protect steps.
