    DA Power tool pads

Hello there. I started using the DA power system last season. I am wanting to do a good session on my car again this summer, but I have some questions about the foam pads that go with the DA power tool. The pads come in different colours, yellow, brown and black. Is the foam actually any different for the three colours/purposes? The reason I ask is that the only store near me that carries them is usually out of the brown pads. Would another one work just as well?

    Thanks....... Cam

When I had the DA power system the pads were maroon = cut, yellow = polish & black = wax. Depending on how the paint is you could mix it up. If it is a daily driver and outside 24x7. you may need the maroon pad. I have seen them online at Walmart and Meguiar's online.

    Hi CamVer,

Below is an older video, but it is worth a watch. Yes, the pads are different. Red=Compounding, Yellow=Polishing, Black=Waxing.

Thank you very much for taking the time to respond. I'll be buying a few packs off of Amazon to make the shipping charges less of a 'ding' ... that way I know I will have them on hand.

Also.... I have had a problem with the adhesive releasing and the velcro coming off on the black pads. Is there any substance that would work well to glue them back together?

    Thanks.... Cam

Thank you very much for taking the time to respond. The only shops that are near me may stock them, but at low levels so they are usually out of stock. I live out in a more agricultural region, so not many choices to shop. I'll be buying some online and having them shipped.

    Hi CamVer,

Sorry to hear about the trouble with the hook & loop coming off the back of the pad. I have had that happen as well, but only on pads which have been used many many times and were worn out. If you had this happen to you on a newer pad, we would suggest contacting our Customer Care Center at 800-347-5700 or customercare@meguiars.com.
