  • No rinse wash/wax over a different polymer sealant

It seems every no rinse wash claims to leave a little wax/sealant on the paint. My question is about the fact that a totally different base coat of polymer sealant is underneath and will probably be applied again over any residual sealant from the no wash. Will two totally different polymers play well together?

As a general guideline, whichever product is applied last, you are going to see the water beading/protection characteristics from that product.

How do I keep from being timed out when I have a long reply?

Ok thanks Nick. I don’t think I explained my question very well. I’m not talking about the shine, beading, etc. I’m referring to how well one manufacturer’s sealant Will adhere to another manufacturer’s sealant. My example was a no rinse wash with sealant put on top of another‘s base coat of sealant. I am not referring to any exotic ceramic coatings. I am referring specifically to standard every day sealants. My guess is the polymer sealants are similar even though they come from different companies. One professional detailer said that for best results you should stick with one product line. I am just wondering if that is correct.
