  • Air brushing black paint to cover etching comesout dark silver

Metalic black seems to come out dark silver when airbrushing to cover some kind of etching on the bonnet.

I did a scratch on the grill, and that came out good and i clear coated it and thats come out orange peel but that can be compounded out.

But the two markings on the bonnet came out dark silver instead of dark black / blue metalic.

Probibly have to try to get the air brush closer and dot it on or mix 50/50 paint and clear and try to brush it on, as it's a half circle eatch mark.

    Just guessing here,

But metallics are very sensitive to the ratio of metallic particles to pigment. If they aren't mixed consistently the look can vary significantly.

If the particles had settled before transferring to the airbrush the mix could be very different than if the bottle were well shaken just before transfer.
