    Meguiar's D120 turning brown

After the D120 Glass Cleaner Concentrate has been diluted it turns brown and the bottle also turns brown. This happens in approximately 2-3 weeks of being diluted. The undiluted product has maintained its original color and the jug appears to be its normal color. Both undiluted and diluted product are stored in a dark closet. Does anyone know why this happens after being diluted? Will this make other plastics turn if used regularly? Is there a shelf life for D120 and if so is it different after being diluted? It seems strange for the bottle and the product to be turning brown.

Do you know if the container holding the diluted product is resistant to chemicals?

The container holding the diluted product is the Meguiar's 32oz bottle designated for this product.

Any chance you mixed with bottled or tap water, rather than distilled water.
If so, there may have been metals in the water that reacted with the chemicals.

Happened to mine also long time ago. Still dont know what caused it. But it still works. The smell is the same. Only the colour changed to brown.

I used distilled water to dilute the product.

    Hi Buffdude,

Unfortunately it is just a by-product of the chemistry. It does not affect performance whatsoever.
