Pictures from Meguiar's 7/11 Thursday Night Open Garage

We started the night off addressing some deep scratches from improper removal of a couple bird droppings. We immediately assessed the scratched needed to be sanded. We used 3M Trizact 3000 followed by 5000 on a festool pneumatic random orbtial. It is much less invasive to sand using a random orbital d/a machine with the proper foam backing, along with the proper foam backed automotive sand papers, than by hand. In general we do not recommend getting more aggressive than 3000 grit.

A Pontiac Trans Am w/ 230,000 miles was next. We used M110 Ultra Pro Speed Compound on our DFC5 Soft Buff D/A Foam Cutting Disc, followed by M210 Ultra Pro Finishing Polish on our DFP5 Soft Buff D/A Foam Polishing Disc. Later we would use the car to demonstrate Hybrid Ceramic Wax.

Next was a 2008 GTI. D166 Ultra Polishing Wax to the rescue.

Not bad at all for a One Step Cleaner Wax!

Pete always seems to have some headlights to restore. 3m Trizact 1000 followed by 3000, then M105 on a rotary to remove sanding marks, followed by our Keep Clear Headlight Coating.

Thanks everyone for coming out! See you next month!

Really nice work on those deep bird inflicted scratches on that silver blue Colorado.

Great to see images like Santiago helping the young attendee pick up new and improved skills working on his white GTI.

Thank you Old Bear. It was a fun night. Thank you again for all of your help, even the little things, throwing away empty pizza boxes, helping put things away, helps me save ALOT of time come end of night, especially when I am only one working event. So again, thanks.

I do not imagine we will have an in person training events this year, but we have not made that call quite yet. Best place to keep in touch is here on the forum, I will post if anything changes.
