Not sure if this is the right forum to post this, but does anyone else think the Meguiar's Smooth Surface clay has changed in the past few years? It used to be like real clay. You could break off a section, knead it into a half dollar size flatted piece, and go at it. The last box I bought, the clay had the consistency of Silly Putty or chewing gum. It was rubbery and stretchy and not clay-like at all. I asked Meguiar's but they said they are not aware of any formulation change but there are also tons of comments on Amazon discussing my same observations. I think this newer version is definitely inferior and was wondering if others on the forum have observed this and if the Meguiar's moderator here could perhaps comment. I really miss the old version that I have used for probably 20 years now.

I purchased a new 'kit' last month from WallyWorld...to me it was the same. But then who knows how long it was on the shelf till I got it (LOL).

Can someone from Meguiar's respond? Is there a possibility some defective batches got sent out to explain my experience and what folks posted on Amazon? If it has changed, can you please consider bringing back the previous version?

I already took the product back to Walmart where I get all of my Meguiar's products. They were happy to refund the purchase. I hope you consider taking a careful look at the new vs. previous version. In my experience using both, the new version is definitely not as good in terms of usability or effectiveness.Comment
