  • Meguiars DA polisher self destructed

It appears my first thread did not materialise so here goes my 2nd attempt:

Got quite a scare when the machine suddenly broke down. Some part luckily missed the car and hit the inside of a wheel arch. I probably won't be getting a new meguiars machine as warranty is long gone.
Can anyone offer some suggestions for a good upgrade? I was using the 5" backing plate which took a hit too but will probably still be usable.

    Hi Jeroen1000,

Sorry to see the trouble. We have never seen this before. In fact, we have tried to remove those screws and counter weights many times & they are incredibly secure & almost impossible to remove.

Where you using a lot of pressure and leaning machine on pad edge during use?

Again, we have never seen this & sorry to see trouble.

Additionally we would recommend you to contact Meguiar's Belgium if you are seeking further assistance regarding warranty, replacement. Their contact information is below:

Hi Nick, I would say only moderate pressure at best. I was working on a door panel at the time. Warranty is 2 years in the EU and the machine is well older than this.
