  • Tire Care

    Hi All,
I have been a lurker for years researching how everyone does things. Today I have a question on cleaning tires. Rather than having shiny tires I prefer a more natural look. Today I started cleaning my pickup tires with a general purpose cleaner (not Meguiars) and a brush. I ended up with an even shade of brown, looking worse than when I started. Then I tried Meguiars Hot Tire and Wheel cleaner with not much better results. Where have I gone wrong?

    Thanks

    Hi Leo,

Depending on the age of the wheels, and how they have been maintained throughout their life on your vehicle, it may take several applications of cleaning/scrubbing to get them really clean. Also, in our opinion, tires still really benefit from the application of some sort of rubber conditioner to provide a more even appearance. Our #40 Vinyl & Rubber Cleaner/Conditioner has been used for decades on tire sidewalls to achieve a more natural look. It's my personal favorite also, would highly recommended it.
