Was sitting admiring my newly clayed vehicle and ran my hand over the plastic headlights. They look fine but feel rough like the paint did prior to claying. Can the plastic headlight assembly be clayed? Thanks.

The M10 is called "polish" by Mequiar's but it's really just a plastic cleaner/shiner while the M17 is really the heavier polish. Not sure why they have that nomenclature. Even after 20+ years of using them, I still have to look at the back of the bottles to figure out which is which!

Re: Can the plastic headllight assembly be clayed?
Environmental fallout like dirt, dust, road grime, tree sap mist, paint over-spray, & industrial fallout, can land on your vehicle's surfaces and depending on what it is, within a certain about of time, can bond & stick to the top of the surface which washing or cleaners alone cannot remove. The paint surfaces primarily are most susceptible to have these contaminants bond to them, primarily because of their porosity, although, other surfaces on the exterior can receive above surface bonded contaminants as well, like headlights, taillights, certain smooth & hard trim, glass, & wheels. Detailing Clay removes these above surface contaminants.
Iron based environmental fallout from brake dust (pads & iron rotors), train railcar wheels (metal on metal), & many other areas of "industrial fallout", can become airborne, land on paint, and then embed within the paint even rust. These are most effectively removed by an automotive specific iron remover like our D1801 Wheel & Paint Iron Decon.
We have a few categories of products which have the ability to remove below surface defects or defects that are within the top coat paint surface. Compounds, Cleaner/Polishes, Paint Cleaners, & Cleaner/Waxes. All of these have some form of abrasive & ability to assist in removing common automotive paint defects like swirls, scratches, stains, & oxidation.
We also have Pure Polishes, which contain no abrasives, which makeup consists of certain conditioners & oils, with purpose of gloss, clarity, & moisture.
#10 Mirror Glaze Clear Plastic Polish is a pure polish, & designed as a follow up to the #17 Mirror Glaze Clear Plastic Cleaner for optimal clarity for the clear plastic material.Nick Winn

You probably want to look for one of the headlight repair kits, or at least something like Ult. Compound and was to follow up.
Or am i going to have to have them replaced completely by the Company?

Should be able to improve it on your own.
Yeah, clay comes in a kit.. Its kind of like a block of play dough that removes bonded on stuff. It wont really remove headlight haze on its own.
