  • Removing scratches from interior wood trim (matteish finish?)

The wood trim in my 300 looks to be a almost matte wood grain, and I scratched it the other day by mistake taking part of the dash apart. It is a light scratch but looks awful.
Not sure how I can attach a picture to show it.
Any ideas how to get rid of it?

This scratch unfortunately looks beyond repairable for a couple reasons, it appears fairly deep, the trim appears to be un-coated or a matte/satin finish. Any attempt to repair by use of abrasive paint cleaners will alter original appearance of area & specifically increase the gloss in that area, again, which is undesirable, since it is a matte/satin appearance.

You can't feel the scratch, but yes I was worried about the finish/masking it glossy as well. It's like a matte/light satin finish on it.
          Thanks

Agreed, it more so has to do with the matte finish that the severity of the defect. You might look into taking apart & vinyl wrapping?

I need to try something before wrapping it. I do like the wood in my 300 but I can't stand this scratch!
