Re: Meguiar's M799 PRO Hybrid Ceramic Bead Booster

Thanks Nick, i should have known better to not mix and match using a competitors product. As i said, i had fantastic results using on top of M27, which will now become my go-to LSP. and will use this M799 on top of M27. So i should be good. What is your opinion though on using it on top of D115, which does contains wax. Because i never let my cars ever get too dirty, i prefer to just do a waterless wash, using D115 8:1 dilution, and a few microfibers. I just use it to lift the dirt, then to give it all a final buff once the paint is clean of contaminates, either using Fast Finish, ULW or a different product, In-between the monthly LSP's i was just using D156 synthetic x-spray. Everything was non-ceramic, so to speak. Today, everything is 'ceramic' Will it affect the bonding, if i used a non-ceramic traditional 'wax' waterless wash. i have an entire jug of D115 that i recently bought to get through. I do also have still most of my original D114 left. (same as D115 minus the wax for those that don't know) that i very very occasionally use at 1:128. Typically at times if I’m going to clay, or polish, I’ll get the D114 out… Should that now be my preferred waterless washing choice over D115 given there’s no wax in that product?, if i plan on doing my final detail using M799 outside of my monthly M27 LSP.

I really do not think the main culprit here is using over a non SiO2 based product, I feel that is more so has to do with the design of the product you were using it on top of like we discussed previously, regarding the abundance of fillers & oils potentially remaining on surface. So with that said, you should be fine to use over most anything else. But yes, ideally it is used as main source of protection on paint with no existing protection or to boost a SiO2 based sealant or coating.

Re: Meguiar's M799 PRO Hybrid Ceramic Bead Booster

How does this product do on glass / windshields?

I'm pretty sure the official answer will be "it's not recommended / not designed to be used on glass" but has anyone actually tried it?

There are a few other Meguiar's products which, while officially not recommended for glass, do very well for this purpose - my favourite being M135 which is now sadly discontinued, so I'm looking for an alternative

We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.

I don't put anything on windshields, but I do apply it to all other glass. When I first started using it, and applied the product too heavy, I noticed it was a little tough to remove from the glass. But after dialing back the quantity applied I don't see the same smearing.

+1 to not putting anything on a windshield. I've learned the hard lesson that it messes with your wipers too much and causes them to chatter in particular conditions. I would use a dedicated glass sealant instead that has low friction.

                Is this correct:

                • 1:3 (1 part water to 3 parts M799) = Boosted Quick Detailer / For Use in Sun
I've seen it listed as this at some retailers:

                Dilutable
                • Full Strength: Spray Sealant or Coating Topper
                • 1:3 (1 part water to 3 parts M799) = Clay Lubricant or Drying Aide
                • 1:1 (1 part water to 1 parts M799) = Boosted Quick Detailer / For Use in Sun

If they were both 1:3 dilutions you'd think that would only be one line item and not two as listed.

The retailer could be incorrect, it's listed as both 1:3 dilutions on the bottle itself too.

Davey, I have to apologize. When I made this post answering your question about glass application, I had just moved from a couple of threads on M27. Somehow I thought your question was in regard to M27, which it obviously wasn't, since this is after all a M799 thread. My bad.

So, to answer your question again, I only just received my gallon of M799 and have not used it at all. LOL, sorry.

The official recommendation is as listed on label full strength & 1:3. If diluted at 1:1 you will start trading durability, gloss & slickness. Side note, also not officially recommended for a clay lubricant at 1:1 so overall, full strength & 1:3 is official recommendation.

For those who are wondering when M799 will be available in the 32oz. size. I picked up some in the 32oz. size from Detail Supply Plaza in Escondido, CA last Thursday. After the bottle I bought they had 5 bottles left. I haven't used it yet, but will soon as a drying agent when I wash my wrapped Miata and apply M27 afterwards.

Yes the 32 is in our Distribution Center now so should be able to start seeing it for sale at your favorite Meguiar's supplier.

Does Bead Booster or Pro Hybrid Ceramic have good UV blockers in them?

All of our waxes/sealants provide protection from the elements, including the sun's UV, including PRO Hybrid Ceramic Bead Booster as this is an Sio2 based spray sealant.
