    Were you able to remove the Miata's intermediate scratches with the burgundy pad and Ultimate Polish.
    Did it require a softer pad for final polishing?

      We used Ultimate Compound via DFC5 Soft Buff D/A Foam Cutting Disc for the compound step. This eliminated 85+% of the defects but some isolated deeper scratches remained. We were not going for 90%. The paint was on the harder more resilient side.

      Ultimate Polish via DFP5 Soft Buff D/A Foam Polishing Disc was used for the polish step. This added noticeable gloss & improved the clarity a bit more.

      Ultimate Liquid Wax was used for the final protection step via DFF5 Soft Buff D/A Foam Finishing Disc.

      I have worked on two "newer" Miata's & both paints have been hard. This was the other one this year:
