So is this basically D1801 with some slickness to make it a clay lubricant?

Yes exactly, but not as potent strength as D1801 Wheel & Paint IRON DECON. This is also not designed for wheels.

But this "replaces" clay right? I currently spray on TRIX and bought IRON DECON to use instead, of course, one should always follow up with a quick clay bar to doubly check that the surface is fine but I'll buy this when my new gallon of IRON DECON is used up.

This does not replace clay, but works like a "spray clay" since it removes both above & embedded ferrous specific contaminants.

Is this safe to use on a professionally installed ceramic coating, such as Ceramic Pro? Will is remove any of the coating? It looks like it is nearly ph neutral.

You can use it as regular iron remover spray on rinse off or with their pro clay only (not from kits)as a clay lube. Even pro clay will eventually break down after using a while with product

Iron removers are designed to remove iron and not all above surface contaminants. Claying will be easier.

I assume it says not compatible with consumer clay bay because it would dissolve it.

Would it be compatible with synthetic clay pads, towels, mitts, etc?

Such as the one that comes with G200200 Hybrid Ceramic Quik Clay Kit?

Yes, Meguiar's Iron Removing Spray Clay can be used as a clay lubricant with the clay pad included in our Hybrid Ceramic Clay Quik Clay Kit. It can also be used with other brand synthetic clay pads, towels, mitts, etc., however, there is some risk in damaging your synthetic clay pad, as the lubricant can make it sticky. We recommend performing a test spot to make sure the the Iron Removing Spray Clay does not make the clay sticky.

Personally, I find myself washing thoroughly, drying thoroughly, then using an iron decon product like Iron Removing Spray Clay, and not using it as a clay lubricant.

Just an update, we no longer recommend using this product with our C2000 or C2100 Professional Detailing Clays. We discovered after launch there was an older batch of C2000/C2100 clay, that apparently was still fairly heavy in circulation, that when used with the product, it can make the clay degrade & fall apart. As a result, we no longer recommend using with any of Meguiar's traditional clay bars.

We think most users prefer to Wash, Dry, Use Iron Removing Spray Clay, Rinse, Dry, and then clay.

This will be a weird question but I’ll ask it anyway...

let’s say, hypothetically speaking, one were to use Hybrid Ceramic Wax before becoming aware of the existence of Iron Removing Clay Spray. Would using the Iron Removing Clay Spray AFTER HCW have any effect? Or would the HCW seal existing iron (etc) particles from the Iron Removing Clay Spray?
