Re: Meguiar's Hybrid Ceramic Liquid Wax

Just got my bottle today and applied some on my front bumper and headlights. (Don't have a chance to do a full blown detail due to rain here)

    Initial impressions:

    - I found it interesting that it does not haze, and after application it appeared to almost dry clear. The instruction itself even states so.
    - The smells very similar to HCW
    - Applies very easily, feels similar to Ultimate Paste wax
    - Waited about 5 minutes, and the wipe off was even easier. I couldn't tell if I was wiping off anything and didn't feel any drag on the microfiber.
    - The bottle design is very striking with the neon yellow bottle and label design. Surprised that the liquid itself is white. But major kudos whoever's in the design department, it's going to turn some heads at the retail stores.

No comment on durability obviously, but so far it's already enjoyable to work with. Can't wait to actually apply this after a full detail.

        Hey Nick,

It just dawned on me this morning to ask, is there a "24 hour curing" time for HCLW? Basically, is it safe to get it wet immediately without worrying about it affecting long term performance?

I know that the blue HCW doesn't really need it because of the water activating chemicals.

It's raining here and admittedly I'm itching to wash my wife's SUV, lay down a coat of this, but will probably get rained on again later. lol

          Hi symmetrical,

Yes, our new Hybrid Ceramic Liquid Wax does have the standard 24 hours curing time before it should be exposed to rain/water and really, the Hybrid Ceramic Wax Spray also should have 24 hours for best results.

AH ok I didn't know that about HCW also. (This makes sense because of the SiO2.) Looks like I'll just wait for a nicer day and save some effort. Thanks again!

According to Brian Hann’s posts on March 19 and March 25, the Hybrid Ceramic Wax, in the blue bottle does not have a cure time. Is Meguiar’s now saying there is a “cure” time by waiting 24 hrs?

Hi 2019 z71, I am double checking with our product developers on all three hybrid ceramic products now. Will report back with findings. Thank you.

OK received some clarification, 24 hour cure time is the standard for all of our waxes for maximum durability, including Hybrid Ceramic Liquid Wax & our G190524 Hybrid Ceramic Wax (Spray blue bottle).

Will you get still get protection & water beading performance before 24 hours, yes, absolutely, but again 24 hours is recommended for best performance. The 24 hour cure time is not as important with G190524, which was likely why it was previously mentioned by Brian that there is no cure time, but yes there was a bit of a misunderstanding, although the cure time is not as important for G190524, the 24 hour recommended cure time for best performance still applies to this product.

Hope this helps! Feel free to post further questions.

I had my bottle delivered from Amazon Dec 5th. Been using it...it's great. Mixed it with some Uber rinseless...perfect spray detailer.

Would you have to wait 24hrs for Wax to cure before applying Hybrid Liquid Ceramic Wax as a top coat..

You do not have to, but it is recommended if trying to achieve absolute best performance.

If the vehicle is prepared properly, i.e. clayed if needed, with our Hybrid Ceramic Liquid Wax, you should experience extreme ease of use, extreme amount of water beading, sphere like water beading shape, you will likely notice vehicle will stay cleaner, easier maintenance whether wiping down with a detail spray or washing, and of course great durability & longevity.

I just found this today at my local Autozone and tried it on my truck. Wonderfully delicious. The only issue is that it does not haze up at all so would be very hard to see it on a white car. Absolutely NO streaking on dark colors too. Bravo Meguiars! Love it
