Nick, would there be any problem applying the new HCLW to say half the car, then removing it in a few minutes?

        Hi Vettefan,

Since Meguiar's Hybrid Ceramic Liquid Wax goes on very thin and may be a bit tough to see on certain lighter colored, vehicles, we recommend applying to 1 or 2 panels at a time, then coming back and removing it. This also means our normal "swipe test" doesn't work. If you prefer to try larger areas, you are not necessarily going to hurt anything, it may just be a bit more difficult application.

Re: Meguiar's Hybrid Ceramic Liquid Wax

A few quick questions on this as I'm getting close to my car's spring cleaning:

            1) My process the last few years has been applying the 3-in-1 Wax followed by a layer of Ultimate Fast Finish. If I still wanted to start with the 3-in-1 (I don't want to lose the cleaning and correcting abilities) what would be better as a LSP, Ultimate Fast Finish or switching to the Hybrid Ceramic Liquid Wax?

            2) For maintenance I have always used Ultimate Quick Detailer and Ultimate Quik Wax. If I were to switch to having my LSP be Hybrid Ceramic, would I still use the UQD and UQW, or would I want to switch to Ceramic Detailer?

            3) For maintenance, do you use both the Hybrid Ceramic Detailer and Hybrid Ceramic Wax sprays like you do UQD and UQW, or just one of the 2?

            Thanks in advance!

I just read in the Meguiar's facebook group this exact question. The Meguiar's rep said using HCLW over 3-in-1 is perfectly fine. Longevity would be affected a bit.

You can still use those two products. It is going to be personal preference. Or you can interchange them every so often.

I posted this video before in another thread. Pretty much covers this question.

I picked up a bottle of this. From my initial impression the application is really nice and the wipe off is easy. If one has experience wiping off ultimate wax then this is just as easy. It is slick and it is just a hint behind ULW. Also in terms of paint darkening ULW does more. Review pending.

Re: Meguiar's Hybrid Ceramic Liquid Wax

Used this product for the first time last night. Brand new Honda Accord that was fresh off the truck at the dealer. Never washed before I washed it last night, I've never felt or seen paint like this. Product went on and came back off with ease. Just curious how durability will be but its hard to know since I use a QW when drying. I tried to keep it off the plastic/rubber since I couldnt find on the bottle where it said if its ok for such surfaces. It does say its ok for plastic but I took that to mean head lights n such.

I've never had good luck with ultimate wax, always smeared and made dark splotches on the paint. Ill have to try this new ceramic wax on a vehicle that isnt pristine to see how it performs on everyday paint.

not sure if this was asked but i went through the pages and didnt see it.

So im about to finish my full detail:
i clayed, Ultimate compound, ultimate polish and applied blackfire sealant. i did not apply my Ultimate Liquid Wax yet and was wondering :

Can I applied the Ultimate Liquid Wax and then the Hybrid Ceramic Liquid Wax? Is the Ultimate Liquid Wax not needed or with the combination of both add to the protection of the vehicle?

My process always been Clay, Ultimate Compound, Ultimate Polish and finish it off with Ultimate Liquid Wax. Do it maybe 2-3 times a year with weekly washes. I noticed this new ceramic technology and seeing if i want to try it out.

                        Cheers!

Ultimate Wax is actually a sealant so you don't need to use it if you already applied blackfire. You can use the hybrid ceramic liquid wax as a stand alone.

What would be the correct steps after a paint correction? I was going to do an IPA wipe down then M27 sealant followed by HCLW on top? What would be the approximate longevity of the products layered together?

You would be fine with just M27. From my testing it leaves a better gloss and darkening effect compared to HCLW. Similar to the look of UW.
