    Is this buffer damage ?

So I sustained damage from an auto car wash. I used a DA buffer , orange pad and 105 to do the paint correction. Everything was fixed by this.

Upon buffing it out, I saw a pin head sized imperfection. It feels like a spec of dirt and a clay bar wouldn’t pick it up. This leads me to believe this is a nick of some sort

My question is: Can a DA buffer do this type of damage ? Or is this likely something else ?

Pic zoomed in and attached. Again, actual damage is the size of a pen tip

Probably not. Looks like impact damage from something very hard.

Has this area of the vehicle been re-painted? Is this defect you are presenting sticking up out of the paint or does it appear to be more of a rock chip? To me it looks like it may be a dirt nib, where literally dust or dirt is on the panel prior to painting & gets stuck underneath.

    Hi Nick

it has never been repainted. I have one of these on the hood too. Just poor quality control during painting ?

It is tough to fully confirm via this one picture, but it is certainly possible.
