Oily Spots, discoloration on plastic trim

No idea what got me, but 6 weeks ago I noticed these oily spots around my window, along with white spots on the trim.

Washed it 4 times by now and no changes. I'm looking for suggestions on what product to try on it. I have a dual action polisher.

Photos attached. You can see the white spots on the trim, I will try some trim detailer and a toothbrush on that first, just not sure about the paint.

What's your year, make and model of car Nitro? I've had good luck starting with a cleaner wax (D166) on spots like that, especially if they have appeared all of a sudden. Probably something in the water.

It's a 2011 Chevy Camaro. I am worried that if I hit it with the wrong product, it would 'spread'. But I get since washing is doing nothing, that's probably not a factor.

Started my yearly clay, swirl routine, polish, wax routine and when I hit it with my swirl remover that just took it off. The clay didn't do anything to it. I haven't started the plastic trim yet, I'll hit that after the paint is done.

Good to hear you were able to remove easily from the paint. What do you plan on using for the plastic trim?

I'm going to try some ultimate black trim restorer first. I don't know if that will work or not, I'll try in a small spot with a toothbrush first.
If that doesn't work I have a heavy duty citrus cleaner I can try that says it's ok for plastic trim, I could try that after, although I'd prefer not to do that. (I'd try it on the cowl where it's covered by the hood first I guess)

That sounds like a good plan, however I would imagine it will needed to be cleaned first. You could also use an all purpose cleaner type product like our M3916 Heavy Duty Vinyl Cleaner.

Ah nice, I didn't realize it could be used on that plastic trim. I will find some. Thanks for the suggestion.

You can also just use any mild/moderate automotive specific all purpose cleaner if you cannot find our M39.

Well I got my hands on M39, and you called it Nick. Whatever that white marking was, it came off fairly easily.
