  • Hello from Canberra

Good morning. I'm Ted. Isolating in Crace, Canberra, Australia. Sorry, no picture handy, but I have a well-used, far from concours, driven all the time with the hood down, Mariner Blue 1990 Australian NA MX5. Hence 'Little Blue'. (As a contrast to the family hack, a 2017 Mondeo wagon, 'Big Grey'.)

Just made a huge difference to the paintwork with Scratch X2.0 then spray Wax. This was after failing badly with the cheaper products I used to use to restore the paintwork years ago. Thank you Meguiar's.
Now I just need to know how best to preserve the smooth waxed surface. Tried the Australian website but can't see a simple guide to the whole process of maintaining the car in top condition. Obviously one of the washes, but but...Thought I saw something in the forum - a link please someone?

Welcome to Meguiar's Online! Happy to hear you were able to make a huge difference to the paint work of your car with our products. Although Scratch X 2.0 is more marketed towards removing isolated scratches, it can be used on the whole vehicle, provided it is applied in sections which it sounds like you have done.

A couple quick thoughts before we provide some links, we often say "frequent car care is easy car care" when it comes to maintenance. The quicker you get the dirt/grime off the vehicle, the better it is. While it is not necessary, for many users, they will literally use a Quik Detailer Spray or Waterless Wash on the vehicle everyday. In general, we recommend washing weekly at minimum if a quik detailer or waterless wash is not used throughout the week.

    Here is a good read:

      Re: Hello from Canberra

Thanks for the quick reply. With the product I chose to restore the paint, I must have taken the wrong message from this post: https://meguiarsonline.com/forums/sh...Swirls-By-Hand. It's a small car, with three panels to a side, and I did a panel at a time, so I hope that they are what you mean by 'sections'. Anyway the result is great, and so long as I didn't do any damage, that's all that matters.
For maintenance of the finish, I'll have a look at the post you linked, and get back to you if the recommended products are not available in Australia.
