Hello everyone, nice to be here. Been detailing for over 20 years, just never got around to using forums all that much. I emailed Meguiars earlier today and they encouraged me to post in here, so everyone could get help as it pertains to my questions.
My questions were: I've used various Meguiars products for over two decades now, and they are always a part of my arsenal. For whatever reason, I never used your APC D101 until now. I just bought some, diluted it 10:1, but haven't used it yet, as something told me to check online before doing so. When I did, it seems like a few folks were complaining of a white residue on their interiors. I use APC primarily on interior surfaces when sweat, dirt, make-up, etc needs to be addressed. My first question is, were the complaints most likely user error? I've detailed long enough to see a lot of folks just simply not following directions and being careless. Bottom line, how would you suggest I use D101 for MY purposes? I don't want to ruin any of my vehicles, from my track Subaru, my BMW F10, or my tried and true F150.
Second question, as I live in Florida, I occasionally need to restore headlights on vehicles. I'm a fan of wetsanding, then polishing, then sealing, then wax. I typically use your plastix product as a step, but I didn't know if that product contains any UV protection. Your headlight coating product is getting hard to come by. What would you suggest after polishing? I typically throw a spray on wax as my final touch, but that's normally after I've used your headlight coating. Since that product is hard to come by, is there another product you offer that has UV protection that is safe for headlights? Or, am I the only one struggling to find your headlight coating product now? (with the understanding that these are different times with COVID) Thank you very much!
