Thanks for the mememories... but I am gone

My sister joined this site in 06 I think. We, and my brothers, learned a lot of great things, and but we learned hype. Without going into it all and brand names, today my one year old black executive car needed detailing. I was a lover of #16 on my other black cars, but when it was discontinued, went to UPW. Great stuff. So after watching things on YouTube and learning over the winter I learned that some some things are easier and better and less expensive.. So instead of clay, I used a surface preparation cloth. (find your preferred brand). Washed in Dawn to strip, and then used the surface preparation cloth, with squirts of cheaper (than a detailer) Dawn in a squirt bottle. Worked wonders. Cheaper, and if you drop the cloth, you simply wash it. Clay can do maybe 6 cars, a surface cloth can do 70. Then I checked for surface defects from the cloth. Nothing. Only checked with my phone light, but I am sure some of you perfectionists with the high intensity lights would find flaws. I don't care. I love a good looking car, but horses and golf are my real passion. So enough of me...the best thing I found was this product. I could seal and shine my car in so much less time. I used to use 10 maybe 15 micro fibers, to buff the car, but today, I used one to wipe on and one just to buff off the flash. Longevity seems to be incredible. (I will only learn this from experience) From a whole day, and perhaps part of the next with old school, now just a morning. No IPA rub down. The car looks gorgeous. If you want to look at it with fancy lights, and a microscope..well that is your problem. What I have found....less time..and less expensive. I learned a lot from Meguiar's but things can be easier and less expensive. We all love to take care of our vehicles, but for me, I have found a better, and less time and expensive way. There is more to life than being a slave to your vehicle. Take care all.

I can't believe, not one response. Not from Nick, not from anyone. Because you all know I am right. Anyone can get super results, by just by going the results route, the less expensive route. It is like buying a cheap printer for 20 bucks, but the replacement ink cartridges are 30 dollars. Sell, sell, and sell, product. I loved what I learned here, mostly from real users, like the two bucket method... except grit guards which are akin to scamming an old lady....but this site is only an avenue to sell product. There ARE better products out there. Don't be a Meguiar's addict... try new stuff.

Funny......I've been gone from this forum for a while.....password reset issues. I started detailing in earnest 4 years ago....and I bought into the hype of all kinds of products. I'm not blaming this forum.....I'm a member of several of them. I've learned a lot from each one, including this one. I'd ask you not to leave, if you still have something to offer to the other members.

I know exactly where to start but just don't have it in me at the moment.

you are free to go. You wrote that in hopes of people begging you to stay. But apparently that did not happen. Good luck.

There are a lot of good brands and products out there. But if I had to buy everything from one company it would be Meguiars. They are trying to sell products. That's the name of the game. But I still feel like Meguiars delivers good quality at a good price.

Over the past 10 years, there has been so much improvement in detailing products both in terms of high quality options and ease of use and Meguiar's has been at the forefront of innovation. I guess this guy is just burned out on detailing.
