Can I use Meguiars Ultimate All Wheel Cleaner on paint as Iron Decon before claying?

The product seems similar to IronX which is very popular in the market. Is it safe to use Ultimate All Wheel Cleaner on paint if I'm going to follow up with rinsing, claying, polishing, and applying sealant?

Thanks, I saw that one but I only decontaminate around once or twice per year my personal car so not really worth it to buy a gallon

yeah, I did, from what I understood the pro version is even stronger so the consumer version should be fine on paint as long as I can spread it correctly (which will be harder on larger surfaces), but still wanted confirmation if it's a good idea to try to use it on paint or is there any reason I should go with another product like ironX

You can safely use it on paint but it's certainly not ideal being a thicker gel, as you mentioned. If you are looking for a smaller size decon product you might consider our Detailer RTU Iron Removing Spray Clay, which is derived from D1801 Wheel & Paint Iron Decon:

Thanks Nick, yeah I'd imagine that would be the major "con" on paint, even for a wheel it takes like 20 sprays to properly coat it so I'd imagine for the whole surface of painted panels would be the whole bottle. If I do use UWC, it would be best to apply, wait, rinse and then use a clay bar with specific clay lube or can UWC be also used as clay lube as long as I rinse after working each panel?

D1801 seems like a great option though, thanks! I'll try to find this.

Yes exactly, but not as potent strength as D1801 Wheel & Paint IRON DECON. This is also not designed for wheels."

In case I cannot find D1801, could I combine UWC with a slick clay lube (or spray them both from separate bottles), then use a clay bar or synthetic clay pad/towel?

We did not design UWC or D1801 to be used a clay bar lubricant.
