Re: Compounding car made no difference

The paint doesn't look as bad as some of them, the only place where there is no clear coat is a patch on the bonnet which happened this year, due to heat from the sun or something focusing in the heat on it. I've done multiple passes on the car but certain areas came up better then others, like the roof, that's the best, and the rear quarter panel, which is the worst.

I'm wondering if it's worth getting a higher cut compound, like Koch h9, which is closer to Meguiars M105 I think, or would it not matter because the clear coat ain't in good shape? The paint feels smooth after claying and polishing, but when I look at it, it looks bumpy or has little dimples.
