How many passes to polish off sealants/waxes, coatings?

I want to use Optimum Hyper Polish. I'm thinking it may go good with the Rag company Black Waffle pad (lake country) on my G110 V2 (unless the Blue waffle less aggressive pad is better for my intended purpose here?)

How many passes is good to remove old sealant/waxes and coatings?

I'm assuming 3 passes is sufficient? Speed 3 is enough (1-3 waxing/polishing, 3-5 swirl/defect removal)

There is no exact number on how to remove them. If you are removing defects then you are removing any protection on the paint. Also if you get that squeaky feeling from polishing then the surface is clean.

You may be better off going with a polishing pad.
