  • When to put more polish on the pad

When using a DA how do i know when to put more polish on the pad. I'm afraid to use to little and burn the paint. I'm using Meguiars Ultimate Polish.

Work one section at a time with back and forth overlapping passes. Make sure the product doesn't dry out while you're working that section. On the other hand if you use too much polish then it over lubricates and doesn't cut as much from my understanding. The total amount of cut depends on the pad type, your pressure, the polish itself, etc. Ultimate Polish does have some abrasives from my understanding but obviously not as much as Ultimate Compound. Then when you're done that section wipe it down and apply more polish to the pad and move to the next section. Tons of videos on YouTube, these forums, and other forums. I'm new to detailing but I've compounded and polished twice now with a machine with great results. This is my understanding.
