  • clay bar with out polish

hello, i have a 2019 suv silver color, the problem is that i park my car at my work in an industrial area and there is many paint shops around .I have this car for less then 2 years and i didn't apply any polish on the car before. now the car paint still new, look nice and glossy, and no any small scratches or swirls', I'm hard washing the car weekly by my hand, using car wax shampoo, but when i touch the paint its too rough and full with small tiny dots of paint dust. my question is, can i use meguiar's clay bar to clean the car paint only without polish after. as my car paint still new and the shin still look good, so am not planning to use polish from this step and start making the car clear coat thinner. Is there a chance that clay bar make small scratches or swirls' to the car paint which will obligate me to polish the car after use. And is there a better solution or suggestion to clean the car from the paint dust with out polish. Note that im planning to use meguiars ceramic spray wax after clay. This will do the job?

Welcome to the forum. The thing is clay is an abrasive and it will marr which is a fancy word for scratch. The good news is your paint is silver which does a good job of hiding swirls and scratches. Polishing and or using a cleaner wax will remove that marring from the surface as well as imparting gloss. Is it required, well not really. If you are happy with the end results then you can go ahead straight to your choice of protection.

Yes in most cases, especially with a light color, you can clay & then use Hybrid Ceramic Spray Wax, without polishing.

Well, I didn't know it was just that simple. Thanks for the tip.
