  • Ceramic Spray Wax

    Hi all,

So, as you can see by my join date/post history, I'm not at all new to detailing or Meguiars, however, I recently finally bought a RAM 1500 and got rid of the Civic. As such, I've been trying to keep it in tip-top shape which has been more difficult for 2 reasons:

    1. Way more surface area of the vehicle
    2. I go offroading in it, which I didn't do in the Civic (thankfully)

I still use Gold Class, 2 bucket method, still have my DA and the polish/compounds, etc... But, Ceramic Spray Wax was recommended to me by Nick Winn and I tried it and I really like it. Of course my history with wax was always either doing a wash -> clay -> polish (if needed) -> wax. It was a very manual-labor intensive process either doing it manually or with DA, but the new ceramic spray wax I like better because it gets me waxing the vehicle far more often, and I feel that the consistency of doing it every time I wash is actually more effective than using the classical wax and only doing it when I could find the time.

I also find the Ceramix Spray Wax to be a better quality product from the standpoint that chemically, it requires far less agitation and application physical activity but still clings to the paint as well as the classical waxes do, if not better.

I can wholeheartedly say that the product has had me pleasantly surprised because I will go offroading on trails and the truck will get FILTHY, and when I wash, all the dirt immediately slides off and I get the water beading that is indicative of a fresh wax, every single time I wash. So far, I think the longest I've left dirt on the truck is 2 weeks, but this is not a big deal when the ceramic wax is on the truck.

Another benefit of the wax is that it smells great, like many other Meguiar's products. This one is probably my favorite scent of all. There's a guy who did a pretty intensive review on YouTube of the spray ceramic wax vs the bottled one, and surprisingly, the spray slightly outdid the bottled one, proving that the spray is not a "junior" or "watered down product"[1]. Most importantly, I ask myself "Is this worth the price of the bottle?" and the answer is definitely an astounding YES. The time saved in waxing and the consistency of applying it every time, plus the encouragement to continue to wash my vehicle BEFORE it gets too dirty/has caked on dirt is key.
