  • Dark spot on paint

This is a 2020 accord sport. Metallic gray color. Noticed this dark is spot the other day. Thought it was a glare but it’s not. Any idea what it could??

Hi this looks like it could be either a aftermarket "blend" repair. You can use a paint thickness gauge to compare this area vs the others. It also could be missing metallic from the factory, at least, this is what we could tell from the picture.

I had an ingot Silver 2015 Taurus I had purchased new. The front bumper had spots like that. I always assumed it was irregularities in the metallic or a "thin" spot.

Never verified, but I noticed other cars with paint marks like that on them from time to time.
