  • Ultimate Waterless Wash & Wax for clay bar lubricant?

    Hi Nick,

As I'm using Ultimate Waterless Wash & Wax, can I concurrently use it as a lubricant for the clay bar? If yes, what is the disadvantage comparing to Quik Detailer?

I can think of 2 reasons when using a clay bar to use the detailer spray without a sealer (sometimes marketing folks call sealers a type of wax).
    * You will be removing the previous wax/sealant with the clay bar, and won't be leaving some behind from lubricating fluid..
    * Ultimate Waterless Wash and Wax is a great product. However, you could save some AU$ by using a Meguiar's detailer without an added sealant.

Note: The links in this post go to Australian website and reflect Aussie dollars.
Meguiar's Ultimate Waterless Wash and Wax seems to be about AU$36 for 26 oz, or about AU$1.36/oz

Depending on how much you use, that is not a big price differential.
The product I use most is similar to Ultimate Waterless Wash & Wax.
I buy concentrated D11501. Yet I could not find it on the Australia website.

If you use a lot of detailer, consider the gallon size of Meguiar's Last Touch Spray Detailer.
D15501 Meguiar's Last Touch Detailer seems to be about AU$70 for 128 oz, or about AU$0.54/oz
However, for using with a clay bar, you can dilute it 1:1 cutting that down to about AU$0.27/oz

We would not recommend using our Ultimate Waterless Wash & Wax as a clay bar lubricant. It will likely be too slick, in turn not allowing the clay to work effectively, & second, it is a waste of a premium product, for use just as a lubricant.
