Applying Headlight Coating By Hand???

Has anyone tried applying headlight coating by hand with a foam applicator? Looking to save time spraying directly to foam applicator then doing multiple coats on headlights.

I have not personally and have not heard of anyone trying, that said, I would imagine if we were able to get the product to perform in this manner, we would have designed it this way, for obvious reasons, like not having to tape off surrounding areas. It's my understanding there is a quite advanced self leveling component to this formulation, and in order for it to work well, needs to be sprayed directly onto the light. That said, you are welcome to experiment, but even if you do get it to look even, no guarantees how long it will last, as the longevity was not tested applying in this manner.

Pretty sure I've sprayed in the middle of the light, and then spread to the edges with a cloth for the same reason... dont know if it affected anything or not?
