Newbie Question: Am I about to make a mistake? Mirror Glaze Swirl Remover 2.0

I am about to use Mirror Glaze Swirl Remover 2.0 on a hood that was painted about a year ago.
Mirror Glaze Swirl Remover 2.0 has a cut rating of 3.
I Have 4-inch patch of bad swirl marks because I Accidentally used a wrong scouring pad to remove tree sap.
Is this the right product for fixing my problem?

    Thanks for any advice!!

Working by hand, probably want Ult Compound... Apply with just a little pressure, then build up a little if needed. Work the area, not one spot

Thanks Murr for your quick reply.
I appreciate your two tips: better product recommendation, and reminder to spread the work area out.

Spread the pressure out when working by hand. You do not want to focus the pressure on your finger tips. Try to keep it even across the pad.

    Thanks Old Bear.

Good tip. I might would have remembered that… I used to know it well. But being an “Old Bear” myself, I appreciate an & all reminders of good basic advice.

i did go ahead with the MG SR 2.0. It worked well, but not 100%. I stopped short with SR 2.0, to be sure I didn’t get too carried away with it, to put a gloss carnuba coat over it just to see how it would look.
With a good layer of polish on top, and on close inspection, the swirls are barely visible.

I will go back in about three months and try to lightly get a little deeper.

Murr - Is Ultimate Compound a better product for that, or is another careful, light application of SR 2.0 ok?

    Thanks guys!

Well, if the Swirl Remover helped, then that might get you there with another application... but UC is stronger. And can still do light application. Fresh sprayed paint from a shop/home is usually softer than from the factory, so can be easier to work with, and a milder product may be enough.

Not quite sure what you meant by carnuba then polish... should be the other way around...

Oops. You are right. Thanks for the “UC is stronger “ info. I wasn’t sure about that. Helpful.
I was half asleep when I typed that - awake in the middle of the night.
I think I was using the terms interchangeably

Good Advice here. Would agree, scuffs from a scouring pad are quite heavy/severe & typically take an aggressive approach to fully remove.
