Can Hybrid Ceramic Paint Prep be applied by D/A polisher or hand application will deliver the best results ?

Yes, it can be applied by D/A Polisher / Random Orbital, that said Hybrid Ceramic Pre Wax Prep is more tuned for hand application.

So if you finished the paint down glossy, with say #7 show car glaze, would you still use this over it before a coating like M27 or just go straight to the coating as the paint is glossy already? Or does the prep create a better bond for the si02 so go ahead with this new si02 prep?

This also takes the step out of a dedicated IPA (m122) style product, as it preps surface for an si02 coating??

If you have already removed defects to your satisfaction and/or polished, there would not be a huge need or benefit to use this. This would be used in a situation where a paint/cleaner / swirl remover product or polish has not been used, and your wanting to provide defect removal, added gloss, and the added benefit of a base layer of Hybrid Ceramic/Sio2 - this product will remove defects, polish the paint + it happens to lay down a nice base layer of Hybrid Ceramic protection.

This would not be ideal to use prior to a paint coating, since it leaves behind protection which you would then have to strip off & even our M122 Surface Prep Spray included in our Hybrid Paint Coating Kit is not designed to strip waxes or sealants - it is more for removing remaining oils & residues - this does not mean it can't remove waxes or sealants it is just not designed to.

Can m27 be used over this? I’m assuming the hybrid liquid wax can. Either way, is there a cure time between this and those?

As a "paint prep" how long after application should a top coat be applied, will spray on hybrid ceramics work straight from the spray on stage, or should you go with hybrid liquid ceramic on top? Then maybe go to spray on hybrid as a weekly or monthly top up? Also if you have defects that require more cutting than the new product would you go ahead and use the ceramic paint prep as a finisher? Then layer on top? I suppose I'm wandering if paint prep is an LSP to be built upon in subsequent washes or should another sealant be added after cutting with paint prep? Thanks for your time.Phil. Kia Kaha.

Just another thought about this paint prep, I like the look of it, but part of me is sceptical about removing swirls and light scratches as you recommend.. by hand. Thats a very hard job for any cutter. Does that mean it has a lot of fillers or can it genuinely remove swirls by hand, a lot of work, don't understand why a DA isn't the preferred method? But I am excited by the product, I am a great believer in sticking to one family of products, I think synergy is a big part of products working at their best. So this would be on paper great to start a full paint correction AIO through to LSP with more Megs hybrid ceramics. Why no DA? Thanks, Phil, Kia Kaha.

Great comments & questions, this is not necessarily the best start to a full on paint correction with a dual action polisher - in short we would recommend looking to our Ultimate, Detailer, or Mirror Glaze Lines for that situation for various reasons. In regards to why Hand application is the primary design driver for Hybrid Ceramic Paint Prep -the vast majority of all car care customers/users are not using a machine. With this in mind, we tuned it to perform great for hand application, and yes remove a good amount of swirls & fine scratches, and in addition provide some major added gloss, especially noticeable on a dark color. If the paint has heavy swirls or scratches & you are looking to make the paint absolutely perfect by hand or with your D/A Polisher, again some of our other products, i.e. Ultimate Compound/Ultimate Polish would be a more suitable way to go. There are generally not major/any disadvantages to using different line(s) of product for the preparation work on the paint.

This will make wash plus redundant which is a good thing for me. I love synergy of products and stripping with say Garage Therapy Decon then correcting with this... only a few light swirls and marring seems the perfect set up for applying/layering the rest of the Megs ceramics as a bare bones up product all the way to LSP. Any thoughts on layering and longevity? Will pre wax prep add to longevity alone? and is there a curing time? Before applying HCLW. and or HCW? Very excited by this product. Megs may have "done" it again! Although I still have doubts about any amount of correction by hand only. I'm sure it will all come out in the wash (pun intended).... now get cracking on sending it to the UK!

How does this compare in terms of cut to, say, M205 or Ultimate Polish?
