I posted a related question about wheel cleaning a while back, this part of my question didn't get answered.
I have factory 2011 Ford Edge polished aluminum wheels (clear coated, see photo) that are brand new and I want to know if Meguiar's Ultimate Wash & Wax G17748C is safe to use on these wheels. Also, is it safe to leave this product on the wheels for 5 or 10 minutes? I use a foam blaster on all 4 wheels at once and then work my way back around to the first one, wiping each one down individually one by one. Gives the brake dust plenty of time to soak and loosen. I've done this a number of times now since the wheels were put on and it seems to work well. I just want to make sure I'm doing this the right way and not messing anything up.
On our old wheels (1998 Ford Explorer slotted aluminum alloy), I used Meguiar's Gold Class Car Wash Shampoo & Conditioner G7164 which worked extremely well and I also used Meguiar's Deep Crystal Car Wash G10464 which was also very good. I'm guessing that these would probably still be okay to use on our new polished aluminum wheels? I really prefer the Gold Class product over the Ultimate product (dissolved in water better, seemed easier to work with and didn't leave as much of a residue on my hands afterwards -- makes we wonder about the vehicle) but Ultimate Wash & Wax says "Clear coat safe".
