I needed a piece for my car so I got a fender and removed the trim I needed from it. It was black and in very poor condition so i thought it was the perfect time to try out the ScratchX I just got. I washed it with Turtle Wax Car Wash, taped off one side and applied two coats of ScratchX then a layer of Zymol Cleaner/Wax.

I used my new Water Magnet to dry and I LOVE it. All products were applied with 100% Cotton terry towels.

A start. I might try a few more applications of the scratch x and give it some muscle on the first go with a terry cloth towel or microfiber. Also make sure you completely working it out until it goes clear. Another great trick is to use a foam applicator pad for your final application as this will leave the clearest surface.
If you have the time, I might also try some NXT Tech wax. It has some light fillers in it which will help to give you the best possible finish.

I agree with all of the above. You should be able to remove most/all of the swirls if you properly apply the ScratchX and put a little passion behind the pad.

How to remove a defect by hand with ScratchX
