  • winter rims and hub caps

i just put on my winter rims and hub caps
    (those cheap black steel rims
what product should i use to clean them?
and also how long do you think that meguiars natural shine will last on my tires if i will be driving throught the snow?
will more coats of natural shine last longer
ps i dont really want to apply too many coats of natural shine because im not a big fan of shiny tires on an accord sedan

    TIA

For those steel wheels, a few sprays of APC is probably as good as anything. Just spray it on, agitate, then wash off.

As for driving is snow, no tire black product is going to last tooo long. Better off with more frequent applications, than a couple heavy ones all at once I think.

To clean the wheels use car wash with a dedicated mitt. As to tire shine, I do not use tire shine during the winter.

correct me if im wrong but theres no added protection if you black the tires ...right???
i just do it because i like my tires looking clean i found that when driving in the snow the NXT insane tire shine arosol is the best because it last the longer than endurance

endurance lasted about 3 days of of snow
nxt has been 2 but its holding up better than endurance

There is some protection to using a tire black, as it helps keep the sidewall from losing its anti-ozanants, and thus drying out.

Not sure if it is a huge benefit, or just slightly prevents the loss. But, I guess it is a little something.
