How much cut? #49 vs #67 vs #91
How much cut? #49 vs #67 vs #91
Just like the title says, how much cut does each of these products offer? I'm very experienced using the #49 Oxidation Remover, but just got to thinking about where it fall in the line up. ![]() |

What are you working on?
Let me check with Mike Pennington for exact clarification on the cutting power of these three products. Probably have and answer for you tomorrow. ![]()

Hi Zaairman,
![]() ![]() ![]() M49 Oxidation Remover is the least aggressive of these 3... M67 One Step Compoundis next in line and was designed more for hand application but can be used by machine for 2000 grit or finer M91 Power Cut Compound is the most aggressive...It was designed to remove up to 1000 - 1200 grit on gel coat by rotary machine but can also be used by hand. ![]()

Thanks Mike. That's exactly how I thought it went but wasn't sure. Now if only I could find the time to clean my boats...

Re: How much cut? #49 vs #67 vs #91
Guys, using #67 and a Porter Cable, what pads would be appropriate?.My boat is heavily oxidized abouve the rub rail and I'm having no success restoring the gloss...I'm sure it has nothing to do with me being inexperienced with the PC, though LOL.
Great forum and I'm learning a lot-thanks! |

Re: How much cut? #49 vs #67 vs #91
Start off with a polishing pad, but if that doesn't take care of the issue then try a cutting pad.
