  • Recommendations for Starting Out on G110 Purchase

I am seriously contemplating a purchase of the G110 from ADS. However, I am overwhelmed with the selection of pad sizes, CCS pad colors and such.

I want to have a good selection of pads on hand and backing plates for the 4" CCS pads. What colors should I have on hand as a general rule of thumb? Do I need the adapter?

What about the Meg's pads? How many of each?

I would get at least four 7" Meguiars Soft Buff 2.0 Polishing Pads and two 2.0 finishing pads.

I purchased the G110 Dual Action Polisher Express Kit from ADS and I am very happy with it so far.

I personally have found excellent results using 5" or 5.5" CCS or LC pads with my 110, they just spin so much faster, and the rotation is the big factor in correcting paint. the larger pads will be great for LSP's, but for me, gotta have smaller ones in the collection for correction..

And I agree with you even though I never used a DA before. My "feeling" tells me that the smaller the pad, the more control I will have for defect removal. I've also read this as well.

So, you like the 5" pad more so than 4"?

I have heard that with a 4" pad the G110 just is almost too much to handle, alot of people are using the rotary with the 4" pads..

                    Here's the inventory:

                    M04
                    M07? (Show car glaze)
                    ScratchX 2.0 and original
                    M105
                    Fine Cut Cleaner
                    Medium Cut Cleaner
                    M09 Swirl Remover
                    Acid Rain Correction Cleaner
M06 (Cleaner Wax and Consumer Brand Cleaner Wax)
                    DC1
                    DC2
                    DC3
                    D151
                    Body Scrub
                    Medallion Paint Cleaner
                    Medallion Wax (?)

Wow, you picked my brain here, but I think I got my inventory down here for cleaner/polishes.

What I'd like to try: Colorx, and NXT 2.0

Re: Recommendations for Starting Out on G110 Purchase

Your off to a good start in terms of product selection.

M04- rotary use only I believe
M07- Pure Polish, works fine with the G110
                      Both ScratchX versions are fine
                      is your M105 DA approved?
                      M06- great AIO, works fine
M09- Meguiars most gentle cleaner/polish in the Pro Line, still works great on its own.
                      DC1- less aggressive than M09
D151- as you know already, most powerful AIO and has good correcting power.

                      I would also get:

                      SwirlX- can be found locally
Ultimate Compound- can be found locally
NXT 2.0- can be found locally
                      ColorX- can be found locally

You may want to order these since they are hard to find locally ( try a PBE store too)

                      M80 Speed Glaze
                      M205 Finishing Polish
M82 Swirl Free Polish ( a little more aggressive than M09)

                          Yes, M105 is DA approved.

MrCl, will get back to you on the 80 as soon as I decide on what I'm going to order.
